While many think 'Grunt' as the low guttural sound, the grunt here means 'low-ranking soldier'. In this case, we are waging war on global warming and pollution.
We aim to nurture the value of wonder, resilience and empathy for the environment in all our members and volunteers.
We have embarked on various projects which have mostly been successes, from our whatsapp channel, to our newsletter, and even our collaboration with schools.
Our Mental health and commitment policy
Here at the Green Grunts, we treasure your time and energy. We also unerstand that you may have other commitments, such as your accedemics or CCA. Therefore, we ensure that the workload that is given to you is fair, and not always equal. We also have flexible deadlines at the Green Grunts, so you can submit your assignments whenever you please. However, we also do not tolerate no submission of work at all. If you need an extension, just ask.
Gabriel Chua is an environmentalist, who is concerned with the the actions taken by humanity that cause the environment harm. Previously CCA captain of St Andrew's junior school eco club, he wanted to continue with environmentalism even after he left the school. In August 2023, he started laying the foundations of a new eco club, now known as the Green Grunts. He believes strongly in putting the environment first, and is willing to sacrifice his time and effort for it.
